Yet, in order for this promise to be fulfilled, children need to receive spiritual encouragement. In a world where the joy and innocence of childhood can be so easily overwhelmed by materialism, the moral and spiritual education of children is so important.
In recent years, the Bahá’í training institutes around the world have been training teachers to conduct classes for the spiritual education of children. The materials developed emphasize spiritual qualities such as truthfulness, generosity, purity of heart, and kindness, all of which are the attributes of God reflected in the human heart. Through children’s classes they understand and develop these qualities and learn about the history and the writings of the Bahá’í Faith. The goal of these classes is for children to lead to their own spiritual development and contribute to the well-being of their families and society. |
